Traveling with tiny tots is never easy, especially so if it is a flight journey. How the child will react to the foreign environment and the reaction of the fellow passengers to your child’s less than perfect behavior, can be the epitome of stress. As the saying goes, ‘exceptions prove the rule’; Nyfesha, was a kind stranger who did more than her bit to be a friendly co-passenger, and eased out the tensions of an Alabama mom named Rebekka, who was traveling from Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Fort Rucker. Rebekka and her daughter Rylee, were off to meet her dad, who was a fire fighter in the U.S army. She boarded the flight at 5:30am, and not only was the flight packed, but it had pin-drop silence. With a baby in arms pin drop silence in a public place could be as terrifying as coming face-to-face with a hungry tiger. But fate had different plans, and what happened restored Rebekka’s faith in strangers. Wanna know what happened? Go ahead and read on.
Rebekka and her new born Reylee were off to meet her dad. They planned to take a flight and Rebekka had her apprehensions, very rightly.
The flight was packed and silence loomed in the inside of the aircraft; Rebekka knew it was not going to be an easy journey.
Rebekka asked for a change of seat, since she felt that Reylee’s constant cries were irritating the couple seated next to her.
She was now sitting next to a lady called Nyfesha, who volunteered to hold the baby for a while, and in seconds Reylee was as calm as the moon. Nyfesha, held the baby for the entire journey and got her to sleep.
Nyfesha, carried her off the plane, so that Rebekka could take her luggage without worrying about the child.
As soon as Rebekka, met her husband, she wrote a letter of appreciation for the kind stranger, and posted it on Facebook.
Here is an expert from the letter—“ Nyfesha Miller, you will never understand how happy this act of kindness has made my family. You could’ve just rolled your eyes and been irritated like everyone else, but you took her and held her the entire flight and let me get some rest and peace of mind. It brought tears to my eyes while I sat there and watched you and Rylee sleeping next to me. I just couldn’t believe how that ended up working out and how caring you were to us. Thank you SO much!! God bless you!!”
‘Be kind; for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about’. I think Nyfesha Miller couldn’t have explained this saying any better. What do you think guys??
